Practice

Front believe that well designed buildings are integral to our quality of life. The firm brings a fresh perspective, combining conceptual richness with a highly considered practical application to create award winning outcomes. We have experience in medium to high-density mixed-use residential developments and have the capacity to work on commercial and institutional projects.

Front was established in 2015 as a boutique architecture firm. Our team is a blend of young architects with experienced professionals to guide them. This combination offers energy and passion, delivering exceptional results for clients. We respond to a variety of influences to meet the needs of all stakeholders. These include environmental, cultural, social and historical factors.

We believe design responses should be appropriate to the site and the context. Our aim is to create contemporary and compelling designs that suit the surrounding urban environment. We also want our projects to foster well-being, community and a strong sense of place.

Front specialises in medium to high-density residential and mixed-use developments. Our services include planning, design, documentation for construction and DA applications.

“One of the great beauties of architecture is that each time, it is like life starting all over again.”

Why did you become an architect?

I have always been fascinated by the formative factors that condition today’s architecture. I also believe that new styles in architecture always derive from the present state of natural formative factors such as building material, technology, climate protection, and culture. To be successful one must be in a constant pursuit for correspondence between architectural form and its time. This continuous question got me through my academic years and will undoubtedly continue to fuel my passion throughout my career in this rapidly changing world.

Why did you choose to become an architect?

From a young age I have always been intrigued by how a building can affect the way people live, by influencing the mood and behaviours of the people within them. Architecture being such a creative profession is what originally drove me into the profession. Now after studying and developing an understanding of what architecture is, I now realise that it is an art-form which aims to improve the lives and lifestyle of everyone within a given space. I enjoy the ability to work on projects that look to find new answers for complex problems.

Why did you become an architect?

From my early childhood drawing floor plans to renovating dwellings with my dad, I always knew I wanted to work in a dynamic and creative environment. Architecture is more than just designing buildings. It is the art of creating complex structures that answer human’s needs and lifestyle, with an awareness of the past and future.
